Our Story
Bethesda Christian Centre is a multi-faceted and non-denominational ministry in the city of Pretoria, South Africa. Bethesda is a registered non-profit company (NPC) and non-profit organisation (NPO) that seeks to transform the society and communities we operate in. Our mission is to empower kingdom people with kingdom word for kingdom living. This vision seeks to ignite excellence in our society.
DOCTRINAL BELIEFS:
God
We believe in the existence of the only one, true and living God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are distinct in person, but having the same attribute, perfection and nature; and each is worthy of obedience and worship. [Matt. 3:16; 17; John 1:1,14; 10:30; 14:26; 15:26]
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary without sin, died on the cross in our place, was buried, rose again on the third day and ascended to heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God until His enemies become His footstool. [Luke 1:26-33; 22:20; 24:46].
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, and that He is the chief agent in the regeneration of the soul, baptizing the believer into the body of Christ, and permanently indwells and fills the believer with the evidence of speaking in tongues for kingdom empowerment. [1 Cor. 12:1-11; Titus 3:5-14; Mat. 3:11].
THE BIBLE
We believe that the bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the foundation from which all claims of truth are substantiated, and is failsafe in the original writings. [2 Tim. 3:16-17].
SALVATION
We believe that when a person hears the gospel and puts his or her faith in Jesus Christ by accepting His Lordship over his or her life, he or she becomes a born again believer. [2 Cor. 5:7; Rom. 10:9-10; 5:7-11; Eph. 1:7].
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe that salvation and our spirituality is sustained by God and not by our works. When the Holy Spirit indwells a believer. He seals them permanently for all eternity. [ Jude 24-25; John 10:27-29; Eph. 2:8- 9; 1 Peter 1:5; Phil. 1:6].
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is God's agent, that will usher in the kingdom of God on earth. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the Holy Spirit is our guide, and the purpose of the church is to equip the saints through set ministries for the work of the ministry. [Eph. 4:11-16; Acts 6:3].
PRIESTHOOD OF BELIEVERS
We believe in the individual priesthood of the believers where there is no mediator between man and God other than Jesus Christ. [1 Peter 2:9-10; Heb. 4:14-15, 5:2].
