Ministries

We are proud of the work that our volunteers are doing to regularly meet specific needs of those who walk through our doors. Our ministries provide opportunities to build strong relationships with people who are at a similar point in life.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”,

Volunteering offers vital help and assistance to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community at large. The benefits are far greater for the volunteers than those at the receiving end. Giving, is mentally stimulating. It also provides a sense of purpose. Our volunteers are committed and enthusiastic individuals whom we immensely rely on to assist us facilitate and perfect the work of the ministry.

The Shepherd’s Staff work tirelessly and diligently behind the scenes to help produce a service to the congregation that is flawless and meaningful. Great or small, every ministry is of great importance to the church and is vital in the production of a service that has an atmosphere of tranquillity, and serenity; conducive to spiritual and mental upliftment. All our volunteers are members of Bethesda Christian Centre serving God in an assortment of ministry departments and positions in order to execute the church functions effectively. We live in a world where sickness and death are distressing realities. Regardless of age and other demographics, we all face the sadness of grief. As an outreach ministry, the bereaved and the sick are visited in hospitals and in their homes. Support, prayer and comfort are some of the things offered to strengthen the frail. The command, according to Mark 16: 18, is carried out in this ministry. ‘They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover’.

This ministry promotes the nurturing of the next generation of leaders. We are committed to grooming God-given talents under-pinned by sound, age-appropriate and practical biblical-based teaching. A fun and supportive environment is created to advance the overall development of children ages 3 months to 13 years. The youth ministry provides a service to teenagers, 14 years to 18 years. Instilling Christian values and morals and fellowship with Christ beyond the church service, is our core focus with regards to our young members. Many of our teen-agers work hand-in hand with adult volunteers to ensure a seamless service. This fosters an attitude of selfless service and spiritual responsibility.
